Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for the health, safety and environmental design aspects of the work packages under his/her control.
Responsible for the development of all technical design information required for inclusion into a RFP/RFQ procurement process for the fabrication and delivery to site of specific work package free-issue equipment or for the required construction services required for specific construction work packages as assigned.
The provision of all necessary technical support for assigned work packages in support of the package manager and/or construction manager to deliver such work packages within the expected time, quality and budget requirements.
Identify and mitigate all technical risks associated with assigned work packages and ensure compliance to all standards and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining cordial client relationships.
Assist in managing the technical requirements of the assigned work package. Contracts manages in support of the project procurement manager, pack manager and project manager.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
Safety – to ensure the maximum amount of injury free man hours, and compliance with the projects health, safety and environmental systems and standards.
Quality – to ensure that the technical aspects of the GIBB and/or project specific quality management system is implemented and maintained.
Project integration – to integrate the activities of the different discipline engineers , designers, specialists, contractors and other project members ensuring that all the work performed is in line with the scope of the assigned work packages and that the desired outcome is achieved.
Scope management – to ensure that only approved work as per work package contract is being performed.
Time management – control of activities within his / her sphere of influence in ensuring compliance to the project schedule.
HCM management – includes the management of staff under his control, motivation of the team, training / development, and conflict resolution.
Cost management – to apply controls to ensure adherence to the baseline budget for the assigned work packages.
Communication – the distribution of the required information to the stakeholders. This information needs to be communicated timeously to ensure stakeholders are informed of progress and issues that can affect the outcome of the assigned work packages, both positive and negative.
Risk management – ensuring that the assigned work package risks are identified and quantified timeously for an appropriate mitigation response to be developed. Appropriate control measures are to be put in place.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (ideal), BSc Engineering or Engineering Diploma Qualification, GCC (Advantage), PMP (Advantage)
Experience:
10 years related EPCM project office environment experience, minimum 1 major mining EPCM project delivery through all project phases,
5 years of which should be within a mining environment, consulting and implementation experience.
On-mine working experience will be a benefit.
Knowledge Required: Project Management, Design Office Management, Contract Management, Planning and Scheduling (MSP or Primavera or both), Project Execution, Commissioning
