This position will report to the Senior Manager: Corporate Engagement.
Job Summary:
•Primarily focused on ongoing tactical identification and swift acquisition of new business network partners, the retention of current network partners as well as all related activities in managing, nurturing and growing the WWF Business Network towards raising and securing funding.
•Accessing donations-in-kind through corporate fundraising
•Providing administrative support related to corporate partnership management including travel arrangements and events management
•Identify potential corporates for new business engagement
•Conduct research and due diligence on potential corporate partners as well as sustainability trends and themes
•Support to the Corporate Partnerships team with key performance indicators
•Recruit new corporates into business network and grow the network
•Coordinate and arrange Business Network Meetings and other WWF Corporate meetings and events
•Develop and deepen relationships with existing business network partners and retain current partnerships
•Conduct administrative tasks related with business network acquisition and management including processing of S18A certificates, thank you letters, SED letters, travel arrangements and events management
•Engage corporates to raise awareness and secure sign-ups for global environmental social and economic performance e.g. Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Alliance for Climate Action (ACA), Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
•Update relationship management tools including Netsuite and the Global corporate database for effective management of corporate portfolio
•Assist in corporate proposal development and reporting
•Contribute towards development of corporate communication materials e.g Annual Review, Newsletters
•Assist in the fundraising and participation of campaigns and initiatives such as Earth Hour and Journey of Water.
•Coordinate and facilitate corporate employee engagement opportunities
•Look for opportunities to deepen and transition Business Network partners to project and programmes as well as transformational partnerships
•Secure additional financial and in-kind sponsorships for WWF-SA from corporates as required.
•Support corporate partnerships department as needed
Requirements:
•At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
•Degree in Marketing, Sales, Communications, Business Management or Sustainability.
•Proven track record of delivery in fund raising, customer engagement, marketing and/ or sales in the corporate or Non-Profit sector.
•Self-managed individual with a task orientated focus that delivers consistent outcomes.
•Knowledge and understanding of the components of corporate fundraising, CSR, CSI, BBBEE, Shared Value, Marketing, Corporate Relations, and Sustainability is required.
•Research skills, fundraising skills, knowledge sharing, presentation skills, negotiation and diplomacy skills, which enables an understanding of the corporate and its sector orientation, networking and fundraising at corporate level are required.
•Practical experience in Public Relations, Corporate Relations, Communication, Marketing, Sustainability or Business Development is preferable.
•Prior Non-Profit sector or corporate experience is essential.
•Background knowledge of key issues (through education or prior experience) in conservation or business sustainability is highly desirable in order to facilitate engagement with business partners.
•Computer literate – good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to use databases for recording and reporting.
•Knowledge of customer relationship management systems and protocols and experience of working with CRM databases.
•Good planning and prioritizing skills to manage a varied and pressurized workload.
•Proven team player, willing to accept additional responsibility, show initiative, and proactively work to exceed targets.
•Excellent presentation and communication skills.
•Ability to network with and influence senior people both internally and externally in order to achieve a pre-defined outcome.
•Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
