Job Summary:
To digitally communicate the image and goals of the Aurum Group through the use of effective web, video
and other digital communication strategies under the leadership of the Director of
Communications. The Digital Media specialist will manage, maintain and help develop the Aurum website and other Aurum project websites as well as other digital media platforms. The incumbent will be responsible for review and advice on the use of new technologies that will enhance the Communications Unit’s productivity by utilizing up to date web technologies. The Digital Media specialist promotes a client-oriented approach and works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and project teams in the Aurum Group. This is an exciting role in a small and agile team as part of a global organisation.
TECHNICAL WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Website Development and Administration
•Collaborate with team members, IT and external service providers to further develop and enhance the Group’s websites, explore creative ideas for increasing traffic to these websites and facilitating search engine optimisation.
•Research website trends and changes in browser behaviour as and when required.
•Define, develop and deliver projects to enhance the website and digital communication tools in ways
that align with Aurum’s strategic goals.
•Maintain a fresh cohesive website design, monitor web traffic and increase online marketing
presence.
•Create digital content including, but not limited to graphics and video.
•Oversee the Aurum project websites and communications apps.
•Constantly seek out information for the site and explore new technology and software and how it might assist Aurum in communicating to various audiences.
•Monitor site-level analytics to improve the performance and engagement
•Assist in the development, documentation, and communication of acceptable use of electronic communications policy, regulations and standards.
•Manage and complete requests for content edits and updates; serve as the liaison between Communications, ICT and programme units regarding website uploads and edits
Contribution to internal projects:
•Participate in project meetings as and when required.
•Coordinate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to gather information about project needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output requirements and deadlines.
•Ensure continuous follow-up with other stakeholders to achieve project deliverables.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Degree or diploma in communications, computer science or other related field or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage the content of a large website
•Experience as a web content manager, web strategist, or related digital media experience
•Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
•Knowledge of best SEO practices and tools
•Great organization and time management skills
•In depth knowledge of HTML or other web-based technologies
•Knowledge of Internet infrastructure and practices
• Knowledge of website design practices and familiarity with recent trends in marketing, including social networking strategies
•Ability to detect, analyze, and solve technical problems
•Knowledge of strategic communications, public relations and marketing strategies
•Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
• Five or more years of professional website/digital communications management experience
preferred.
