Our client, from the manufacturing industry seeks qualified person to fill in the position of Service Domain Lead – Network in the Group Information Technology Team based at the Group Head Office in Durban. Reporting to the Technology Services Operations Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for recommending and implementing network domain strategy, architecture and standards as well as proactively managing the day-to-day delivery of the contracted services for Illovo’s global network to support the achievement of service level agreements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages security requirements for Networks and Firewalls
Manages services to agreed Service Level Agreements that meet business needs
Manages services to agreed Service Level Requirements for new services for both business and supplier
Ensures the effective implementation of technology standards in the Network and Telecoms environment
Identifies and implements the various component parts necessary to deliver the services through Operating Level Agreements
Manages services to the agreed Operational Level Agreements with suppliers
Manages the day-to-day delivery of the contracted services, ensure quality of delivery and address service failures
Co-ordinates, directs and evaluates the operations of the data voice and video network(s)
Ensures network performance through the monitoring traffic, performance, and network configuration
Provides incident and problems management services for the internal and external clients
Oversees the effective resolution of incidents
Drives continuous service improvement(s) to maximise the effectiveness and quality of Network services
Designs and sources cloud ready network capabilities.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
SPECIFICATIONS:
Technical Bachelor’s Degree or relevant IT qualification
ITIL (Service Management Certificate) qualified (preferred)
5-7 years’ experience managing global network services at large, complex, global organisations
Sound experience in leading network service management teams, internal and 3rd parties
Experience working in a multi-vendor IS sourcing environment
Good knowledge and understanding of Network & Telecoms technology areas (within projects and operations)
Knowledge of networking protocols and architectures
Experience working with Telco providers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), and a proven track record in building and maintaining effective relationships
Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Effective people management skills
Proven ability to operate independently as a self-starter, and as an effective team player
Above average proficiency in MS office
Willingness to travel into all areas of operation, within and outside South Africa as required.
