Seeking Intensive Sheep Farm Manager with Animal Science Qualification
Are you passionate about sheep farming and possess a strong background in animal science? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Intensive Sheep Farm Manager.
At our thriving farm, we prioritize animal welfare and sustainable practices. We are looking for a knowledgeable professional who can oversee the day-to-day operations of our intensive sheep farming operation and ensure the highest standards of care for our flock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the intensive sheep farming operation, including breeding, nutrition, health, and overall flock management.
- Implement and maintain effective animal welfare protocols to ensure the well-being and productivity of our sheep.
- Develop and execute breeding programs to improve the genetic quality and productivity of our flock.
- Oversee the grazing and pasture management strategies to optimize the nutrition and grazing patterns for the sheep.
- Monitor and manage disease prevention and treatment programs, in collaboration with veterinarians and other experts.
- Lead a team of dedicated farm staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
- A degree in Animal Science or a related field, providing a solid understanding of sheep husbandry and management practices.
- Proven experience in intensive sheep farming, demonstrating expertise in flock management, breeding programs, and animal health management.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions in a dynamic farm setting.
