- If you would like to check the status of your 2024 NSFAS application, please visit the NSFAS website.
- Click on MyNSFAS account and login with your ID and the password you created during your application.

NSFAS Messages and their meanings
This is what the status messages mean when you are applying for NSFAS funding:
1 Application submitted:
Your application have been loaded in the NSFAS system
2 Filtering:
The System checks if you area returning student and if you have previous qualifications
3 Validation:
Nsfas conduct 3rd party cheks with sassa/department of home affairs
4 Evaluation:
They verify all documents u sent during your application
5 Funding Eligibility:
They verify household financial status declared in your application
From the 6th of January 2024 the status of applications was updated on applicant’s student portal accounts. These are the status messages you might have seen.
Successfully Funded
This means that your application was successfully processed and funding process has been completed.
You can register and attend Classes.
Eligible For Funding But, Awaiting Confirmation Of Academic Admission
This means that you qualify for funding, but we have not yet received admission confirmation from an institution. Until such time as admission has been confirmed, funding will not be approved.
You need to inform the institution’s Financial Aid Office.
Verifying The Household Income With Third-Party Sources
This means that NSFAS are still verifying the student’s household income with credit bureaus to confirm that the income declared is under the R350 000 threshold.
No action required. A message will be sent if funding is approved and academic admission is confirmed.
Awaiting Evaluation
This means that the application has been received and needs to be assessed by a caseworker at NSFAS to ensure that all information on the application has been correctly captured.
What you need to do: Wait. No action is required. A message will be sent if funding is approved and academic admission is confirmed.
Application Unsuccessful
This message means that the applicant’s household income is above the R350 000 threshold and therefore rejected. Or applicant has the previous qualifications and does not qualify for NSFAS. Or applicant has not been admitted to a university or TVET College.

M trying to check my Nsfas status i am.unable to reach it and .i recieved a massage saying my application was submitted..i wanted to ask maybe if other massages are coming to show that my application was successful or not?
It simply shows that your application was submitted and you will have to wait for other responses from NSFAS with regards to your application

How can i upload my outstanding documents because i tried to log in to my nsfas account and they say “we are experiencing a lot of traffic please keep on trying”. I try for many times and still saying the same thing
I am sorry for the issue you faced, please exercise patience, and keep trying, the site will be up again. The quoted statement below should give you the reason why the website is experiencing so much traffic.
“To date more than 600 000 applications have been received from applicants who intend to further their post-school education at any of the 50 TVET colleges and 26 public universities. At least 505 820 are first-time applications.”

if I try to login it says my ID doesn’t exist and if I try to re-register it says my email already exist…I’ve tried to change my email several times if I re-register but there’s no change…please help what must I do?!
