Job Summary:
Perform pharmacy related functions for various protocols in clinical trials unit.
.Management of finance dept staff performance
.All finance dept staff must have valid and active performance contracts as per HR schedule.
.Sum of performance contracts for all finance dept staff approved and active / Total finance dept staff in department by a specified date, expressed as %
Develop Pharmacy systems
.Develop systems for recording drug accountability and temperature control.
.Number of system failures for a specified period of time
.Management of finance dept staff development
.All finance dept staff must have valid and active development plans as per HR schedule.
.Sum of development plans for finance dept staff approved and active / Total finance dept staff in department by a specified date, expressed as %
Preparation and dispensing
.Prepare and dispense study product according to protocol requirements and Good Clinical Practice Standards (GCP).
.Number of deviations from protocol and GCP / time
HSE incidences
.The total number of HSE incidences reported involving the behaviour, the work and work environment of finance staff.
.Number of incidences reported for specified period of time
Ordering of resources
.Order medication and study product as and when required.
.Number of incidences when medication or study product were not availableby the pre-determined time, for a specified period of time
.Development of SOPs
.Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the Pharmacy plan.
.Total SOPs approved / Total SOPs need to be developed and approved for a specified period of time, expressed as %
.Record of study product utilisation
.Collect and accurately record information on study product issued and returned. This can be established through an audit.
.Number of discrepancies identified within a specified period of time
.Stock take efficiency
.Accurately perform and record monthly stocktaking of study products. Can be established through spot-checks.
.Number of discrepancies identified during spot-check per month
.Disposal of study product
.Study product not utilised must safely be disposed.
.No of proof that product was safely disposed of / No of instances products were disposed of within a specified period of time, expressed as %

Requirements:
Qualifications:

Degree in Pharmacy (Essential), GCP(optional extra)

Skills:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Add/Subtract/Multi/Divide in all units of measurement
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spread sheet, graphics.
Computer literate
Efficient in Microsoft Office

Experience:
At least 3 years Pharmacy experience – 3 years
Clinical or research experience in TB/HIV care
