Job Summary:
The VMSLK Department in Pretoria has a position for a Senior Credit Controller. If you believe you meet the requirements for this position then we would appreciate your application.
The main tasks and responsibilities associated with the position are listed below. This is not an exhaustive list of tasks and responsibilities and any other tasks and/or responsibilities that could be reasonably expected for the position may be required.
Perform collections for current and ex-tenants.
1.Current Tenants: Keeping current areas below an acceptable level.
2.Reduce/maintain cancelation of leases for current tenants.
3.Ex-tenants: Increase receipts.
4.Maintain bad debts and hand over.
5.Reduce the arrears of number of external tenants.
6.Increase the paying off in terms of tenant’s files.
7.Complete necessary records and credit control notes.
8.Follow up with payments and arrangements.
Perform a customer service function to build and maintain relationships with tenants.
1.Customer satisfaction: increase customer satisfaction by converting unsatisfied customers to satisfied customers.
2.Increase customers understanding of procedures and provide solutions to customer queries within CPA policies and procedures.
3.Maintain a high standard of the first contact resolution.
4.Accurate and timely completion of the MDA system.
5.Complete logged queries in line with the critical nature of the issue and required timeframe.
Perform administrative duties.
1.Report on arrears on a weekly and monthly basis
2.Perform daily administration of credit control management console and MDA system, reports, and communications.
3.Issue accurate instructions and ensure documentation is attached as per prevailing processes
4.Ensure that ITC listings happen after three consecutive billing cycles. Consider payment arrangements and adjustments to tenant accounts.
5.Maintain acceptable standards in terms of completeness and quality of documents submitted for processing.
6.Blacklisting of all ex-tenants on MDA where leases have been cancelled due to arrears debts has been written off and file handed over.
7.Review monthly MDA reports and update MDA accordingly.
8.Ensure that most of the payers are on debit order.
9.Reconciliation of accounts on an ongoing basis
10.Attend to queries from Property Managers.
11.Manage unallocated payments in the banking expense accounts.
Management, coaching and mentoring of staff members.
1.Ensure that staff in team are motivated and empowered by making them accountable for their own development.
2.Provide regular and effective feedback and support to staff members.
3.Provide assistance to team members in reaching their targets.
4.Ensure that staff are management in terms of the company policies and procedures.
5.Ensure that performance management deadlines are met as laid down by the Credit Control Manager.
6.Collate relevant reports from assigned team members.
7.Management and double check real time and reports on a regular basis to ensure compliance and completeness.
8.Ensure that deadlines are met.
9.Conduct quality checks on team members’ feedback.
10.Ensue that staff update all notes where required.
11.Ensure that all required documents are signed off and checked before distribution.
12.Tracking and managing the quality of team input outcomes and feedback
13.Maintain an error reporting schedule and present monthly to Credit Control Manager.
Working conditions:
Mostly Office Based. No travelling required.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
1.Matric qualification required.
2.Post qualification in finance or credit preferred.
3.4+ years’ experience in credit control required.
4.Experience in property management preferred.
5.Legal experience preferred.
6.Minimum 2 years’ experience in supervisory/managerial role preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1.Knowledge of basic accounting.
2.Knowledge of MDA – advanced.
3.MS Office skills:

c.MS Word – Intermediate
4.Strong numerical ability.
