Job Title: Fundraising and Communications Intern
Location: From home, or in Concordis’ London office once lockdown is over.
Duration: 6 months, minimum three days per week, flexible working hours available
Remuneration: Volunteer; there is no salary or stipend, but Concordis will reimburse reasonable expenses including a small daily lunch allowance.
Training:Concordis will ensure interns receive a high level of relevant experience, including training from senior members of staff
Start date: ASAP
Reporting to: Director of Operations primarily, and occasionally the CEO/Director of Programmes
You will develop your existing skills in communications and/or fundraising, receiving coaching from senior staff as you put these into practice in the professional environment of a peacebuilding charity.
Concordis seeks to build relationships of trust and respect, considering this the key to successful intervention in peace processes. The work of all members of the Concordis team is required to conform to and advance such an approach.
During your internship you will become a valued member of Concordis’ close-knit team, in which we rely on each member to contribute their skills to our work. We’re particularly looking for people to work on fundraising and communications.You will work with the Director of Operations to implement communications and fundraising plans for Concordis. This will involve working with the Director of Programmes and the programme teams both in the UK and in Africa.
Responsibilities:
- communicate the delicate nuance of peacebuilding work to a wider audience through newsletters, printed publications, social media and videos.
- generate much needed funds from private donors and grant-making trusts.
There is a great deal of flexibility needed when working for Concordis. You may be asked to work on any element of Concordis’ work. As a small team we all pitch in to do anything.
