Job Summary:
The incumbent would be required to provide generalist human resources support service to the eMedia Group and its subsidiary’s line management and all employees, to ensure that effective HR policies, practices and processes are in place to support the strategic direction of the business.
The key performance areas include but are not limited to:
1.Recruitment, Selection, Placement and Exit:
-Updating Job Profiles for advertisement.
-Managing and co-ordinating the inflow of applications.
-Advertising vacancies internally and externally for the eMedia Group and the subsidaries.
-Supporting transformation and talent by screening, advising and recommending talent during the interview process.
-Ensuring that all vacancies are placed within 90 days of advertisement.
-Preparing Competency Based interview guides.
-Conducting Competency Based interviews.
-Conducting background and reference checks for all shortlisted candidates according to role requirements.
-Drafting of contracts and all related documents for new employees, ensuring 100% accuracy of information.
-Coordinating and conducting the on boarding and induction of new employees.
-Suggest improvements on the processes.
-Ensuring exit processes are correctly concluded (e.g. resignations, dismissal, deaths) in accordance with the relevant policies.
2.Industrial Relations:
-Setting up disciplinary hearings, monitoring the process and ensuring proper records are kept for the eMedia Group and the subsidiaries.
-Ensuring IR policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
-Advising Managers and employees on company policies and procedures.
-Assisting with establishing a positive employer-employee relationship that promotes company culture, brand and values.
-Advising managers and employees regarding disputes and ensure resolution in line with the company’s grievance procedure.
-Assisting managers with disciplinary matters and other employment relationship difficulties.
-Providing advice and assistance to managers in order to effectively deal poor work performance issues.
-Ensuring a common understanding and consistent application of the performance review process.
-Assisting in preparing relevant documentation for CCMA cases.
-Monitor and refer wellness matters to the Wellness / HR Manager
3.Reporting and Administration:
-Compiling HR Board Reports, Group Headcount Report, Headcounts per department on a monthly basis for the eMedia Group and the subsidiaries.
-Compiling HR Reports (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annually).
-Providing accurate regulatory and statutory reports (i.e. organizational head count, Employment Equity statistics, etc.) to Business/Board/EXCO on a monthly and annual basis.
-Ensuring that all HR administration standards and procedures are adhered to and identify opportunities for improvement and resolve any discrepancies.
-Liaising with HR managers, administrators, training and other outside sources and assisting in coordinating the activities thereof.
-Liaising with payroll regarding salaries, benefits and queries that may arise.
4.Support:
-Provide sufficient support to the Line Manager and HR Department in the eMedia Group and the subsidiaries.
-Assist in ensuring that the departmental goals, objectives and systems support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
-Ensuring the implementation of HR initiatives within business units and provide pro-active proficient support and advice.
5.Change Management:
-Assisting with the restructuring process when and if required..
-Offering advice to managers and possibly affected employees.
-Drafting Full and Final Settlement agreements.
6.Performance Management:
-Assisting and coaching managers and employees on the Company’s Performance Management principles in order to establish a performance driven culture.
-Coordinating performance management related activities as aligned to the performance management cycle.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role.
A relevant Bachelors Degree / National Diploma in Human Resources
