Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme Scholarship Programme 2021

The Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme is currently looking to fund undergraduates looking for scholarships.

Bursary Details:

You have the chance to study in Ireland! The Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme is aimed at offering fully-funded scholarship opportunities to South African students. Selected students will be chosen to study at Master’s level in Ireland’s Higher Education Institutions.

Students from Historically Disadvantaged Institutions are encouraged to apply.

Closing date: 1 August 2021.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen;
  • Have a minimum of two years relevant work experience;
  • Hold an Honours degree from a recognized public university, with an average of at least 75%;
  • Not in possession of a Master’s degree or higher level qualification;
  • Be able to take up fellowship in the academic year 2025/2026;
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and aspirations, as well as commitment to the achievement of the SDGs within your own country;
  • Have identified and selected two relevant courses from the Ireland-Africa Fellows Programme Directory of Eligible Courses;
  • Should not have applied for the Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme on more than one previous occasion.

Bursary Inclusion:

  • University application fees;
  • Tuition fees;
  • Examination and other fees;
  • Economy travel to and from your country of residence to Ireland;
  • Settling in allowance, book allowance and study allowance;
  • Accommodation;
  • A monthly stipend to cover other living expense; and
  • The costs of an entry clearance (student visitor visa) application.

Applications must be typed and be submitted to the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa by email at: SAFellowships@dfa.ie.

You need to include the following documents with your application:

–          Certified copy of passport or official identification document;

–          Certified copy of undergraduate certificate;

–          Certified copy of undergraduate academic transcript;

–          English language test (IELTS) certificate, if available. Only IELTS certificate dated September 2019 or later are acceptable
