Matric Exam Remarks/Rechecks 2024 | Now Open!

Since matric results have been released, candidates who saw their results and feel it was a mistake can apply Matric exam remarks and recheck. Results of remarking will be released from 15 March 2024 and will be available at the school/exam centre where the candidate sat for their 2023 examinations.

However, matric rewrite or recheck application comes with a fee. A recheck costs R29 per subject. To just view your script, it will cost R220.

Matric Remark

Matric Remark, in contrast to a matric recheck, involves a complete re-evaluation of the original answer script by a different marker. Candidates can request for remarking of their scripts if they feel it was mismarked.Remarking costs R116 per subject.

How to Apply for A Matric Remark/recheck

Both full-time and part-time candidates can apply for remarking, Application forms can be obtained from the centre where the exam was written. Alternatively, candidates can apply only by starting with these steps:

1. On your browser, load Government’s Official e-Services Portal – https://www.eservices.gov.za/
2. locate and click the education icon, which displays a graduation cap
3. Select the Basic Education Option. This will cause several options to appear.
4. Select Re-Mark/Recheck
5. Correctly complete the required fields, tick the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions and submit.

However, to use the online portion, candidates have to make a payment for the remark or recheck the application with their exam number as their reference number.
