Matric May/June Rewrite Registration is currently open. Matric Rewriting allows learners to improve their matric results. By implication, you can increase your chance of studying in your desired institution.
Matric rewrite is one way to improve a poor matric result. Rewriting entails taking the complete examination again, candidates who want to improve their result and who will participate in the upcoming 2023 October/November matric examination can apply to write the 2024 rewrite examinations.

Registration for Matric Rewrite 2024 May/June exams opened on Monday, 2 October 2023 and closes on 9 February 2024.
Rewrite Opportunities
The following opportunities to rewrite exist:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) supplementary exams which are usually in March
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) progressed learners (learners who wrote the NSC the previous year but did not sit for all 6 subjects) which are usually in June
- Part-time NSC candidates (learners who attempted the NSC examinations post 2015) which are usually in November
Matric Rewrite Registration 2024
Rewrite Registration can be done online or in person at a provincial education district office or at an examination centre they previously used. Either way, every learner who wants to register should have these documents.

With these documents with you, head over to your local district office to apply for a Matric rewrite.

Matric Rewrite 2024 Commencement Date
Candidates who are participating in the exams can download the final matric timetable, to plan ahead. The final examination will commence on Monday, 30 October 2023 and will end in the first week of December.
