The NMU Applications to study a non-selection programme in 2024, close on 30 June 2023. The portal is expected to be shut down on the same date at 11:59 PM.

#2 Nelson Mandela University Opening Dates/Application Dates
The NMU Application is expected to begin in April 2024.

#3 NMU School Dates
First semester (which runs from late January to mid-June): applications open in the first week of August and close on 31 October of the preceding year. Second semester (which runs from early July to late November): applications open in the second week of January and close on 30 April of the same year.

Prospective undergraduate, postgraduate and international students who wish to join Nelson Mandela University in 2024 are invited to apply online.
- 30 June 2023 for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
- 30 June 2023 for Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and Bachelor of Radiography (Diagnostic) applications.
- 4 August 2023 for early applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad)
- 30 September 2023 for late applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad)
- 30 September 2023 for international student applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad)
2) Student Accommodation (On-Campus & Off-Campus)
- Closing date: 30 September 2023
3) International Applicants
- International student applications (excluding MBChB & BRad): 30 September 2023 (application fee of R500)

Academic admission
Prospective undergraduate, postgraduate and international students who wish to join Nelson Mandela University in 2024 are invited to apply online as from April 2023.
In order to ensure adequate time for application, processing and planning by the university and yourself, online applications for early admission in 2024 should be submitted by:
- 30 June 2023 for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) applications.
- 30 June 2023 for Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) & Bachelor of Radiography (BRad) applications.
- 04 August 2023 for early applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad).
- 30 September 2023 for late applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad).
- 30 September 2023 for international student applications.
- 30 September 2023 for ALL student housing applications.
Please note, places in some qualifications are limited, and it is therefore in your best interest to submit your online application and ALL supporting documentation timeously. Before completing an online application form, please take note of the Applicant Score (AS) and minimum pass % per subject requirements for the qualification you are applying for, or refer to the A-Z career webpage, faculty websites or faculty guides for additional information.
Specific dates and deadlines have been set for admission registration as well as the closure of the admission portal. It is advisable to apply early because of the limited admission slots available at NMU as late applications may not be permitted.
