PASA was recognised by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) as the Payment System Management Body (PSMB) of South Africa in 1998. In this role, PASA oversees the function of 18 different payment streams ranging from low value debit card transactions to high value bond exchange payments.

In serving its mandate, PASA has supported several initiatives that have shaped the payments landscape in South Africa, including the Rapid Payments Programme and DebiCheck.

Job Title: Business Analyst

Job Summary:
The Business Analyst will effectively elicit and validate business requirements with PASA stakeholders and to analyse and translate business requirements into requirement packages/specifications from which applications and process solutions are developed. They will also define business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services or optimised business processes and ensuring business articulation and integration across business processes and systems in the National Payment System space.

•To analyse business situations to identify issues, opportunities.
•Research and analyse customer issues, wants & needs
•To understand the case for change for a business concept derived from the strategic plan of PASA or from conceptual designs and initiatives
•To elicit and validate business requirements with PASA stakeholders
•Analyse “as is” “business architectures”, to identify issues, opportunities.
•Develop design principles to guide redesign activities
•Develop “to be” “business architectures”, through increasing levels of design detail (conceptual / high level / detailed)
•To produce BRDs (Business Requirement Definition documents)
•Translate the requirements into functional, technical specifications and Use cases
•Determine interfaces and integration points to ensure integrated functional specifications
•To ensure business articulation and integration across business processes and systems in the National Payment System space as well as the integration of the architectural components of the project to achieve alignment and cohesion between service offering and architecture components (Cross functional awareness)
•Assist the project manager / operations function with systems user-acceptance tests
•To follow and support PASA Project Management methodology
•Manage relationships with PASA members and employees
•Active stakeholder management, continuously manage stakeholder’s expectations and understanding.
•Ensure that the PASA interests are presented correctly and consistently in the Payments Industry

Requirements:
Qualification:
•Tertiary qualification in Information Systems or IT
•Certification of Competency in Business Analysis
•A relevant post-graduate qualification will be preferred

Experience:
Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience as Business Analyst involved in complex multidisciplinary projects or multiple projects/programmes
Financial services and Banking industry experience is non-negotiable.
Experience in Waterfall and Agile practices

National Payment System exposure with specific experience regarding the following payment systems:
•EFT
•AEDO
•NAEDO
•RTC
•CARD
