Job Title: Branch Manager
Location: Inanda and Operations based at the PROTEC National Offices in Randburg
Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Administration:
- Provide stakeholders with weekly, monthly and annual progress reports on the status of the branch.
- Accurate record keeping of all resources, assets and learner records.
- Coordinate the Post School Programme and Alumni by encouraging participation of students in the programme.
- Management responsibilities:
- Create a positive learning environment for all learners, employees, internal and external customers.
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
- Management of facilities within the branch.
- Operate the branch business development strategy in order to achieve the branch targets and deadlines.
- Address stakeholders and employee satisfaction issues promptly with reference to allocation of resources, learner discipline, learner attendance.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately and efficiently.
- Manage stakeholder relations not limited to learners, funders, schools and teachers.
- Operations:
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives.
- Meet goals and targets according to PROTEC Strategy.
- Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization.
- Maintain and establish sound relationships with all stakeholders.
- Manage, schedule and monitor programme activities.
- Submit reports to national office i.e. dashboards, finance and narrative as per the agreed templates and schedules.
- Knowledge:
- South African education sector.
- STEM and its impact to the SA economy and society in general (career opportunities for learners).
- South African Schools Act, learner promotional requirements.
- Assess local conditions and identify current and prospective opportunities.
- Stay up to date with educational changes and provide reports on the necessary changes and effects.
- Educational policies i.e. Religious, SACE, Disciplinary, Teachers Code of Conduct, Inclusive Education etc.
- Support:
- Share knowledge with other branches and national office on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with learners by providing support and counseling.
- Administration:
Requirements:
- The incumbent must have the following attributes:
- Matric qualifications with Mathematics and Physical Sciences as major subjects.
- Certificate or Diploma in STEM careers from a registered FET institution will be an added advantage.
- Four-year relevant qualification (Education; Project Management, Finance Management, Administration).
- 10 years relevant industry experience.
- Competent computer skills including MS Office or equivalent.
- Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering.
- Numerical and literacy/ communication skills.
- General understanding of office equipment.
- Key Competancies:

- An understanding of education policies and reform issu
- Own transport with a valid driver’s license.es from formal schooling to HEIs.
