PYEI Teacher Assistant 2022 Phase 4 Applications Closing Date

Qualified Youths can now apply for the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI). Applications should however be sent before the closing date.

 

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) officially opened to accept Presidential Youth Employment Initiative’s (PYEI) applications for phase 4 on 26th September 2022. This means that Youths can send in their applications.

However Youths are to apply before the closing date which is on Sunday, 16 October 2022. Also, late applications will not be considered, the Department of Education clarified on this.

The department will make about 250 000 positions available for general or education assistants in schools. Applicants for Teaching Assistant positions should have at least a matric certificate, though Youths with university education credentials, particularly those in education, will be given preference. Applicants for general school assistant position do not need matric certificate though.

Other requirements are that the Youth must be a South African between ages 18 and 34 living within 5km of an urban school or within 30km of a rural/farm school and someone who has not participated in any previous phase.

From December 2022 to the end of the first two weeks of January orientation and online training for selected candidates will begin, work will officially kick off in February.
