#2 Sefako Makgatho University Opening Dates/Application Dates
Submission of 2024 applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
Applications for the 2024 academic year for all programmes open on 3 April 2023 and close as follows:
- Friday, 28 July 2023 for undergraduate programmes – (Applications officially closed for 2024 undergraduate intake)
- Friday, 29 September 2023 for postgraduate programmes – (Applications officially closed for 2024 postgraduate intake)

- You are allowed to apply for two study choices. If you wish to apply for both under and postgraduate programmes, you should apply for them separately, and provide the required documentation for each of them. However, you only pay one application fee for both.

- You should pay the non-refundable application fee of R300.00. Use your student/ID number as reference when making payment

#3 SMU School Dates
First semester (which runs from late January to mid-June): applications open in the first week of August and close on 31 October of the preceding year. Second semester (which runs from early July to late November): applications open in the second week of January and close on 30 April of the same year.
