The Sol Plaatje University (SPU) Application for admission to undergraduate study programmes for both South African and international citizens close on specific dates in the year preceding the year of study. The closing date for SPU Applications for 2024/2025 all selection programmes is towards the end of October. Please refer to the admission requirements before beginning the online application.
The General Requirements for Sol Plaatje University Applications is that a Candidate must meet a higher certificate requires a minimum APS of 15, a diploma a minimum APS of 18 and a bachelor degree a minimum APS of 21 or more (some exceptions apply).

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION
Things to note before applying online to Sol Plaatje University:
- You’ll need an email address to complete the application.
- South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport number.
- There are different online application portals for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.
- First, you will need to register as a user before you can apply online.

Undergraduate applications for the 2022 academic year are now closed.

Postgraduate Applications
The closing date for postgraduate applications has been extended to 31 March 2022.

Prospective postgraduate students can apply to study at the University by using our online application system by clicking on the Start Your Online Application tab found on this page. There is no application fee required to apply.
To apply online, students must have a valid email address and use a computer with internet connectivity.
Applicants are encouraged to download and read the Guidelines on how to apply online document before beginning the online application process.
Should applicants encounter difficulties using the online application system, they can send an email message to the Admissions Office on applications@spu.ac.za.
Note;
You must note that If You are to submit any application to the Sol Plaatje University , You must do so before the closing date as stipulated by the Administrative body.
Monitoring your application
When we update your application, you will receive an email communication. Please monitor your email account closely for updates. You can also check your status online with the log-in credentials that we will send you after you apply. We are not permitted to disclose your application status telephonically.
