TFG account application declined? What to do

Was your TFG Account Application declined? Here are the top reasons why your account may have been declined.

  1. TFG allows only new account applications in stores ONLY
  2. You did not provide the necessary information for your application.
  3. Sometimes, your application has not been declined, sometimes it is because there are loads of other applications waiting to be approved.

However, it is best to contact TFG to know the exact reason why your account was declined. You can contact them through their Facebook with your ID number or you can call the Customer Services division on 0860 576 576.

What to do

All applications run through an internal scorecard process, whereby information on the application is scored certain points as well as information at the Credit Bureau. We advise that the evaluation is based on affordability, payment history and credit bureau checks.
You may re-apply after 3 months.
Alternatively, you may apply for a lay-by in-store.
You can also obtain a free copy of your credit bureau report at www.transunion.co.za before you do re-apply for an account.

Please re-apply for a new account using a different logo either online at www.tfg.co.za or in-store.
