Having a matric qualification gives you an edge, but there are TVET College courses without Matric. You can enroll at several accredited Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges that offer courses without a matric qualification requirement.
There are TVET Colleges’ courses that allow those who have completed Grade 9 to gain a matric certificate. These certificates such as National Vocational Certificate (NCV) on Levels 2,3 and 4 are equivalent to Grades 10, 11 and 12.
TVET Courses are skill-focused, the NC(V) is one of the qualifications available at TVET Colleges and it does not require matric. However, here is what you really need to study at a TVET college in SA.
- Be at least 16 years or older
- Have Grade 9 or ABET Level 4 Certificate
