The University of Cape Town (UCT) has recorded Academic transcripts along with other related important information.

An UCT academic transcript is an official record of your attendance, coursework, and grades from an academic institution. Usually one would only attach a transcript when an employer requests it in the application process, in which case it would be a requirement that could disqualify you should you refuse to submit a copy.

University of Cape Town Academic Records

The Academic activities are recorded by the institution. The Student Records Office is able to verify whether a person has a particular qualification from UCT or not, however, is not able to release to parents, guardians and other third parties any private information pertaining to current or past students’ academic records, nor can the office release copies of those academic records without written consent or proof of power of attorney, unless the disclosure complies with an obligation imposed by law.

All Student Records Office services are available online; remote service remains in place.

All current students can access their proof of registration electronically via their PeopleSoft Student Self Service account.

The Student Records Office provides the following services:

• issuing of official documentation to students
• official transcripts
• duplicate degree certificates
• graduation
• receiving appeals for readmission from academically excluded students
• deferred examinations requests
• examination extra-time requests
• examination recount requests.

Transcripts Keeping Duration

AACRO guidelines suggest that a community college should retain these transcripts for a minimum of one year after the term in which you applied if you do not enroll; otherwise, it should retain them for a minimum of five years after your graduation or last date of attendance.
