UNISA Exam Remarks Applications 2023 Open!

When students receive their Unisa results they will receive codes. These codes will indicate the marks they achieved on what they may need to do to continue their academic journey.

Here’s What Unisa’s Exam Codes Mean

• 1 – Pass: Achieved with a final mark of 50% and above.
• 2 – Pass with Distinction: Obtained with a final mark of 75% and above.
• 3 – Failed: Received a final mark below 50%, requiring re-registration for the module.
• 5 – Absent from Examination: Issued when submissions are not received within the allowed period, requiring re-registration for the module.
• 6 – Supplementary Examination: Granted for certain circumstances, allowing students a second examination opportunity without the need for re-registration.
• 7/99 – Results Outstanding: Marks are pending, and students can follow up from December 14, 2023.
• 8 – Not Admitted to an Examination: Issued if examination admission criteria are not met, necessitating re-registration.
• 24 – Absent – Supplementary: Given when the proctoring tool is not used in the first examination opportunity; re-registration is required for the second opportunity.
• 28 – Script Rejected: Outcome for students not using the proctoring tool in their second opportunity; re-registration is necessary.
• Students aggrieved by decisions can appeal through the online appeal form.

Important Unisa Exam Rules

Undergraduate students get two exam chances. If they fail in the second attempt, no extra chance is given. The aegrotat system doesn’t apply to undergraduates and no third exam opportunities are granted.

Some students submitted exams for the wrong modules, resulting in automatic rejection. Those not using the official myExams platform faced challenges, but Unisa accommodated them.

The university reminds students that proctoring tools must be used during exams. Failure to use proctoring tools will result in marks being withheld.

Postgraduate students can apply for aegrotat if they miss the first exam. The university has a strict policy for this and applications are not accepted after marks are released.

Unisa has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating. Disciplinary processes may take time but penalties are severe and may even lead to expulsion. Students with corrupted scripts were afforded another chance in the next exam.

The final-year concession FI concession applies to final-year students close to completing their qualifications. Students with over 24 credits outstanding must re-register. October/November 2023 marks will be released in stages, with most expected by December 14, 2023.
