What An ‘Application Submitted’ NSFAS Application Status Means Scholarship 2023/2024

Students who have submitted their NSFAS bursary applications are reminded to check their application status regularly. Their application status may show ‘Application Submitted’, here is what it means.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) recommends that students who have submitted their application, check their application status frequently because NSFAS does not have a timeframe when it comes to students’ application status updating.

Those who receive an ‘Application Submitted’ NSFAS status, means that their application has successfully been uploaded on the NSFAS system.

Applications are available to South African or permanent residents who hope to study at any of the 26 public universities or 50 TVET Colleges, including students who previously studied without funding from NSFAS.

How to apply for the NSFAS bursary:

1. Click here to visit the myNSFAS account.
2. Create a myNSFAS account, then proceed to the application tab to fill in the required details.
3. As proof that your application was successfully submitted, you will receive a reference number.

Should you not have access to the internet or a digital device, visit your nearest National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) or Thusong Centre to apply following the same steps.

Those who require further assistance may ask an employee from NSFAS who is stationed at the application centre.
